MuseArt Terre Haute is delighted to announce our 4th Anniversary Art Exhibition! We invite artists of all levels to showcase their talents and compete for the chance to have work displayed at MuseArt Terre Haute from July until September 2026, among other prizes. This year’s theme, "Give Me Liberty," is in honor of our country’s 250th Anniversary. We reflect on the principles our nation was founded on, on the promise afforded to all who came to call this land home. So, we request artwork that answers this question:

“What does Liberty mean to you?”

Contest Details:

Eligibility: The contest is open to all artists over 16 years old, including professionals, amateurs, and students, from Indiana/Wabash Valley Region. 2D pieces must be installation ready and prepared to be hanged (must weigh less than 10 lbs with frame, wire or claw accepted). We reserve the right to reject pieces not properly prepared for display.

Due to being a public business, pieces must be appropriate for all ages (I.E. No Nudity, Gore, Excessive Violence, etc.)

Drawing | Painting | Mixed Media | Ceramics/Sculpture/Glass | Photography | Digital Art/Digital Illustration

Theme: "Give Me Liberty"
We invite submissions that explore:

  • The meaning of the word “Liberty”

  • The history of the United States of America

  • Works examining America of today and in the future

  • Explorations of American identity

Submission Guidelines:
Entry Fee: Free
Submission Limit: Each artist may submit up to Three (3) Pieces
Format: Digital images of the artwork must be submitted in JPEG or PNG format. Each image should be no larger than 5MB. (file naming convention listed below)
Description: Each submission must include a brief description (up to 200 words) detailing the artwork’s concept and connection to the theme. MUST ALSO INCLUDE DIMENSIONS.

Judging Criteria: Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, originality, and interpretation of the theme.

Accepted Artists will be notified June 15th-16th via EMAIL and given further instructions.

Awards:

Accepted artists will have their work exhibited at MuseArt Terre Haute from July 1st to September 5th, 2026

Top Works: Artists of Top Works will each receive an Art Supplies Gift Basket, as well as a giftcard to MuseArt!

People’s Choice: People’s Choice will be awarded at the end of the exhibition, as the public will vote on their favorite work which will receive their own gift basket!

Best in Show: Best in Show will be awarded to judge’s choice, winning a Personalized Art Supplies Prize Package!

Awards will be given out at the Exhibition’s closing reception (Date TBA)

*Artists chosen will also have the chance to sell their work at the Art Exhibition as well as hanging in MuseArt. Details will be sent with acceptance email.
